BMW X5 Facelift Spied, Hybrid Option Coming

BMW X5 is one of the best-selling SUVs of the brand around the world and the company is currently working on a facelift version of the X5. The prototype has been spotted again on public roads with minimal camouflage. Since it is covered up only in some areas the changes are expected to be minimum. The test mule spotted was seen with a tweaked design at the front and rear. The front fascia of the vehicle is seen to adapt to the new design philosophy of the brand that is seen in the X7. Unlike the flagship models, it will not feature a spotlight setup the X5 follows the traditional single headlight unit that features new design elements in it.

The front grille will be upgraded to a larger unit and the front bumper is reworked to a new design language. The rear taillight is expected to be similar to the X7. However, the interior of the upcoming X7 will feature huge changes. It will feature the brand’s new curved display and includes a 14.9-inch infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The carmaker will update the new X5 with its more current iDrive 8 infotainment system.

There is no news that has been revealed regarding the powertrain of the vehicle, most likely BMW will offer an M-lite M60i trim, an X5 M, and a hybrid. However, the vehicle spotted testing had a hybrid testing sticker at the passenger door conveying the brand is testing the hybrid unit which will most likely be a plugin hybrid unit. But there are rumours floating around the internet that the X5 won’t come with Hybrid to may be launched in some specific markets. BMW will introduce the updated X5 sometime next year.
