Bajaj Become The Top Selling Motorcycle Brand In India Overtaking Hero

Hero, Honda and Bajaj always occupy the podium positions in the Indian two-wheeler industry in terms of sales. But the majority of sales for Honda comes from scooter while motorcycles account for the major portion for both Hero and Bajaj. Finally, Bajaj took the top position from Hero to become the number one motorcycle brand in the country even though sales have come down in the domestic market considerably because of the second wave of COVID.

Bajaj has managed to sell 3,48,173 units in April 2021 compared to 3,39,329 units of Hero. But on overall sales Hero continues to lead as the company had sold 32,956 units, which include scooter sales also as Bajaj doesn’t have a scooter in the portfolio even though they have an electric scooter but it is available only in selected cities. Last month Bajaj managed to sell 1,26,570 units compared to 1,81,393 units in the same month last year.

The sales of Bajaj is expected to improve as the company has already launched Pulsar 125 NS, which will cater to a new set of buyers.
