Auto Expo 2023 Components begins with a focus on Technology and Innovations

The sixteenth edition of auto expo started in India on 12 th of January 2023 at New Delhi. The auto expo was organised by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of I ndia (ACMA), the apex body of the Indian auto component industry, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The 2023 auto expo was inaugurated by Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Hon’ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries along with Mr. Sunjay J Kapur, President, ACMA and Chairman Sona Comstar, Mr. Sanjiv Bajaj, President, CII and Chairman & MD Bajaj Finserv Ltd., and Mr. Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA.

This year’s auto expo was themed ‘Technovation – Global Platform for Future Technologies & Innovations for Automotive Industry”. The autoexpo is 4 day gala and it has successfully completed 2 days and still going with an active participation of of over 800 companies from 15 countries. Each company showcased their the latest technology & innovations at the mega show. Some of the world brands participated in the auto expo includes Toyota, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai etc. However, this time many premium brands didn’t participate in the autoexpo and the only premium brand seen was the Lexus. The auto expo gave an opportunity to many automobile start up in the country in the electric mobility segment to show case their products and get connected to a wider audience. The future of automobile will be feasible only with newer innovations of sustainable fuel and technologies and hence many manufacturers and start ups are continuously engaged to bring the future commute hassle free with strong research and development on automobile technologies.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Hon’ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries said, “The participation of over 800 manufacturers from over 15 countries at the 16th Auto Expo components is a testament to the success of the show and the automotive fraternity. It is commendable to see the strong growth of the industry over last few years, contributing more than 2.3% to the overall GDP of the country. I am very thankful to the manufacturers for strengthening Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and making India a global manufacturing hub”.
