Ather Family Electric Scooter Rizta Teased For The First Time

Ather is expanding its portfolio as the company is planning to introduce a new family electric scooter, which is going to look completely different from the existing 450 Series. This new scooter has been already spotted in testing and now the Indian start-up released the first teaser of its upcoming scooter. The family scooter is named Rizta and it has been trademarked earlier. The teaser video shows an ultrasound screen which shows the overall shape of the scooter and it looks similar to the test mule spotted.

One of the main highlights of the scooter is its size as it is much bigger than other products from Ather the seat is long enough to accommodate a family and it will compete head-on against the TVS iQube. The foot well is spacious as there is more than enough space to carry average Indian groceries. The handlebar is placed slightly higher like most conventional scooters as it gives a comfortable riding position. The mirrors get a simple design theme and the belt drive is covered which will protect it much better compared to the 450 series.

The upcoming scooter doesn’t have a hub-mounted motor like some of the other electric two-wheelers in the market, which could have reduced cost for Ather but the company is looking at premium pricing as the scooter features LED headlamps, tail lamps and indicators. We can expect the instrument cluster to be similar to the 450 Series and come with lots of connected features. Ather is yet to reveal the specifications of the battery and range. The official debut will take place at the Community Day 2024 event.
