By Aprilia finally launched the much-awaited new SXR 125 in India at Rs. 1.14 lakh (Ex-Showroom). The bookings for the model had already begun and it can be booked either by visiting the dealership or at the official website. The SXR 125 is almost Rs. 11,000 cheaper than the more powerful SXR 160 but the latter feels more VFM with the pricing of 125 as the company is not aggressively positioned the model compared to competitors.
Even though Aprilia priced the model at the premium end, they are not skipping on any of the features as both 125 and 160 looks identical. The 125 comes with dual LED headlamps with daytime running lamps in them. The scooter also gets a LED position lamp in the middle while the tail lamps also get a similar treatment as headlamps with DRLs integrated into it. The big visor at the front gives a maxi-scooter look for the SXR 125.
The scooter is powered by 124.45cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with three valves and produces 9.52PS of max power at 7600rpm and 9.2Nm of peak torque at 6250rpm. This engine is mated to an automatic gearbox. The braking system is combi and the front gets telescopic forks while the rear comes with hydraulic units. The 125 retains the same fully digital instrument cluster from the 160 with optional Bluetooth connectivity and it is available in four colour options – red, blue, black, and white.
