2023 Yamaha R15 and MT-15 Launched In India

Yamaha officially launched an update for the R15 and MT-15 in India. The changes for both these models are minor as the company has added a traction control system and it will be available on other Yamaha bikes too. Apart from this, the R15 finally gets a coloured TFT display with Day and Night mode, which was expected for a long time along with Bluetooth connectivity but the company is yet to add a turn-by-turn navigation system on the R15.

But the new coloured TFT display is only available on the R15M while the R15 V4 continues with the regular screen but other updates will be available on both bikes. Another thing both bikes get is new LED indicators as Yamaha was reluctant to add them even on the new-generation model. Finally, the Japanese manufacturer listened to riders and now the MT-15 comes with dual-channel ABS. Even though braking is excellent the added safety feature is a good thing.

The price hike for both these motorcycles is minor as the R15 V4 price increased by Rs. 1000 and Rs. 2500 for the R15M while the MT-15 price went up by Rs. 4000. The R15 V4 now starts at Rs. 1,80,900 and Rs. 1,93,800 for the R15M while the MT-15 starts at Rs. 1,68,400 (all prices are ex-showroom). Mechanically the company has updated the engines of both R15 and MT-15 to meet the new emission norms, which will come into effect in April.
