By Toyota showcased the new generation Land Cruiser 300 in the country at the 2023 auto expo. Toyota globally revealed the new generation Land Cruiser back in June 2021. The Land Cruiser is one of the longest running name plate on a car. The vehicle name tag Land Cruiser has got a strong legacy of reliability, durability and efficiency. However the new generation Land Cruiser is its sixth generation. The vehicle is built on the GA-F body-on-frame platform. The new generation Land Cruiser is in high demand outside the country and the waiting period of the vehicle is very long and still people are eagerly waiting to buy one. And that raises the question in India that if Toyota launches the Land Cruiser here will the carmaker be able to meet the demand on time.
The new generation Land Cruiser looks really rugged. It has got the boxy design making it quite simple and more adaptive however the vehicle features a very prominent grille that enhances the stance of the vehicle . The SUV is very large, it measures 5 meter in length and it has got a heavy road presence. The very boxy and upright stance of the vehicle will definitely dominate the road. The new Land Cruiser gets an updated cabin with more luxury and space. The vehicle now comes equipped with 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.In terms of safety, the SUV comes with 10 airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). A cool new feature and a first for a Toyota is the fingerprint sensor housed in the centre of the engine start-stop switch, for added user security.
The large SUV will be powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 Diesel that produces 309 ps power and 700 Nm of torque and the engine is matted to a 10 speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also comes with 4 wheel drive train with proper low range gear ratio carrying over the legacy of off road capability. Internationally the vehicle is also available in V6 petrol. The vehicle is expected to launch sometime later this year.
