This groundbreaking initiative aims to revolutionize the traditional car delivery process by introducing a safer and more reliable method. The key highlight of this initiative is the elimination of the conventional practice where dealer staff drive new cars from the stockyard to the showroom for delivery.
Instead, new vehicles will now be transported directly from the stockyard to the showroom on specialized flatbed trucks. This strategic move ensures that vehicles reach their final destination without being driven on the road, thereby minimizing potential risks associated with transit. The implementation of this industry-first initiative addresses various challenges posed by last-mile logistics, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. By leveraging flatbed trucks, Toyota dealerships can navigate through diverse terrains and overcome transportation obstacles effectively, ensuring timely and secure delivery of new vehicles to customers.
The rollout of the flatbed delivery service will be executed in phases, with the initial phase covering 26 states and encompassing 130 dealerships across India.
