By Tata Tiago EV is the company’s entry-level model in India, and the electric hatchback is selling well. The Tiago EV competes head-on against the MG Comet and the British manufacturer recently revised the prices, which makes the hatchback even more affordable. Now Tata Motors has revised the price of the Tiago EV, which starts at Rs. 7.99 lakh (Ex-Showroom), making the EV more than Rs. 70,000 cheaper than the earlier model. The entry-level model gets the biggest price cut when compared to the competitors.
The Tiago EV is offered in two different battery packs – Medium Range and Long Range as the Medium Range is available in XE and XT while the Long Range in XT, XZ+, XZ+ Tech, XZ+ LR (with 7.2 kW charger) and XZ+ LR (without 7.2 kW charger). The XT Medium Range also gets a price cut of Rs. 35,000 and now starts at Rs. 8.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Tata Motors reduced the price of the entire portfolio of Long Range variants by Rs. 20,000 and the entry-level model is priced at Rs. 9.99 Lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 11.89 Lakh (Both prices, Ex-Showroom).
The company decided to reduce the price of Tiago EV because the price of battery cells has come down and they decided to pass it on to customers. This is a great move considering that most of the manufacturers tend to increase the price whenever they get the opportunity as it will increase profits. The Medium Range Tiago EV gets a 19.2 kWh battery pack with 61 hp and claimed range of 250 Km while the 24 kWh battery pack with 75 hp has a claimed range of 315 km. Tata Tiago EV also supports fast charging.
