Suzuki announced that they will be launching their first electric scooter in the country by the year 2025. The world is changing towards more sustainable fuel and every manufacturer is looking forward to carbon neutrality. Suzuki was a brand that came first with the thought of bringing an electric scooter by the year 2020. But the pandemic hit the plans of the brand and got delayed. However, now the brand is strongly looking forward to electric commutes in the country. A global press release from Suzuki states that its maiden electric two-wheeler product for India will be the equivalent of a “small to the midsize motorcycle that will be used for daily transportation such as commuting to work, school or shopping”. This indicates that Suzuki is focusing on better commutes instead of making the vehicle unnecessarily sporty.
Suzuki’s first electric product in the country will be a electric scooter. However the electrified version of the Suzuki Burgman was seen testing many times before. The vision of the company is huge. The brand is planning to bring 8 new electric two wheeler models to launch in India by 2030. With its new product lineup the brand expects 25 percent India line-up to be hold by EV by 2030. Not only electric vehicles the brand ins also looking forward to bring carbon neutral fuel in its larger capacity bikes. The brand didn’t choose to make an aggressively, powerful vehicle, rather the electric commutes will be relaxed and enjoyable at the same with the newly developing product. Since the Burgman scooter is large, it will be easy for the brand to accommodate the battery pack and motor in the country.
