By Tata Motors officially opened its first dedicated Tata.EV dealership in Gurugram last month and the company revealed that it is planning to open more exclusive dealerships in different parts of the country. We have exclusive inside information that South India’s first Tata.EV dealership is coming to Kochi and it is likely to be inaugurated this year. During the inauguration of the first dedicated EV dealership, the company mentioned that it would open new showrooms in cities where the EV growth is really good and Kochi is certainly one of those places which is why we are getting it before other cities.
Currently, the EV portfolio of Tata Motors includes Tiago.EV, Tigor.EV, Punch.EV and the Nexon.EV. In the coming months, we are expecting Tata Motors to expand its portfolio with new models. The Punch.EV is the first model from Tata Motors to be based on the new acti.ev (pronounced as active), acti.ev stands for (Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle) and it is developed from the ground up for electric vehicles. Some of the upcoming models include the electric version of Harrier and Safari.
The company has given a completely new design theme for the Tata.EV dealerships compared to the current ones. Tata Motors has put in lots of effort for these new dedicated dealerships as it focuses on customer experience, which is why the staff will be specially trained to engage with customers. Some of the other highlights include that many of the materials utilized are either recycled or recyclable, with many of them certified with sustainability by global green certifiers and there will be a special coffee corner too. Tata Motors is expecting electric vehicles to contribute 15-17 per cent of its total volume by the end of 2024.
