By Royal Enfield officially launched the Shotgun 650 in India at the starting price of Rs. 3.59 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) for the Custom Shed, Rs. 3.70 Lakh for the Custom Pro and the top-end Custom Special variant is priced at Rs. 3.73 Lakh. The bookings for the Shotgun 650 have already commenced and the deliveries will begin in March 2024 while test drives will be available for prospective customers at Royal Enfield dealerships. The company showcased the Shotgun 650 for the first time at Motoverse but that was a limited edition model.
The production version Shotgun 650 is available in four different colours – Green Drill, Plasma Blue, Sheet Metal Grey and Stencil White. The Shotgun 650 is based on the Meteor 650 but the engineers have made some changes as the seating is upright and the handlebar is flatter too. The foot pegs are placed slightly towards the middle, which offers a comfortable riding position. The wheelbase and overall length are slightly shorter compared to the Meteor 650 while the seat height is 795 mm. Royal Enfield reduced the fuel tank capacity by 2 litres.
The suspension duties are taken care of by the same upside-down forks at the front and dual-shock absorbers at the rear but the engineers have made some changes to the tuning, which will be slightly different for the changes in dimensions. The Shotgun 650 is powered by the same 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine producing 47 hp of power and 52.3 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox while the braking duties are taken care of by the same brakes and the Shotgun 650 gets dual-channel ABS too.
