Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 to launch on Nov 1st

The much-awaited Himalayan 450 has been teased again and is all set to launch on November 1st. The 450 is aimed directly at the KTM 390 Adventure X and the BMW G310 GS and we expect it to be priced in the same ballpark. Compared to the current Himalayan 411, the 450 is believed to be technologically advanced and will sport a 450cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The power figures would go up too and we expect the new engine to churn out close to 40 horses and 37 Nm.

From the teasers that we have seen till now, the 450 has a very different silhouette and looks all grown up. The design has more curves to it when you compare it with the 411 and the suspension too looks substantially updated. There’s a long travel USD front forks along with a mono suspension at the rear. The wheels are definitely 21 inches at the front and we expect a 17 at the rear. For more details on the 450, we have to wait till we ride it. There’s a lot of expectation for this new chassis which will also supplement other models. We expect at least two new models on this same platform which is more likely to be a roadster and a scrambler.
