Renault Kiger Production Model Officially Revealed

Renault officially revealed the much-awaited new Kiger and the global debut took place in India. The market launch of the Kiger is not yet revealed but India will be the first market to get the new compact SUV followed by other markets. The company had already confirmed that 80 per cent of the concept will make it into production model and the production follows the same design theme of the concept, which was revealed towards the end of last year.

The front design gives the impression of a grown-up Kwid as the Kiger gets signature Renault grille with split headlamp set up as the LED DRL is placed on top and headlamps are also LEDs. The concept had 20-inch wheels while the production version gets diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels and the roof rails are functional too. The rear gets C-shape LED tail lamp and the design somewhat reminds us of other Renault models. The Kiger is offered with 6 colour options and various packs to enhance the look.

The Kiger comes with 205 mm ground clearance, which is cladding and boot space is 405 litres. Like the cousin Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger is also based on the CMF-A+ platform. The interior is modern as the Kiger comes with 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Renault also offers 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster and lots of customising offers are also available with Kiger.

Renault Kiger comes with Auditorium 3D Sound system by Arkamys, with a technology that diffuses 3D sound tailor-made to suit the materials and shape of the passenger compartment. The Kiger is powered by two engine options as the 1.0 naturally aspired petrol engine produces 72 hp and 96 Nm while the 1.0 L turbo petrol engine produces 100 hp and 162 Nm, mated to 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
