Porsche Won’t Introduce Cayenne With More Powerful Engines In India

Porsche officially launched the updated Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe in India a couple of months back. The Cayenne was available only with a single engine option which is the entry-level V6 engine and it was expected that the German performance manufacturer will introduce a more powerful version later but according to new reports, Porsche Cayenne and Coupe models in India will be only available with the entry-level V6 engine.

One of the reasons for this decision is that the company was not able to sell the more powerful versions in good numbers. In 2022, Porsche sold 399 units of Cayenne but they haven’t given information on the variant break-up reports indicate that the majority of them were the entry-level model and the V8 models found double-digit sales numbers while the e-hybrid version managed to get sales in single digits which is not idle for the German manufacturer.

Porsche already confirmed that the powerful GT models won’t be introduced in India along with Japan and European markets as the engine won’t be emission norms. The V6 engine is more than adequate for our roads as the current model uses a new 3.0 L V6 engine instead of a 2.9 L V6 and produces 353 hp and 500 Nm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Porsche Cayenne facelift model is priced at Rs. 1.36 Crore and Rs. 1.42 Crore for the Coupe model.
