Porsche Macan EV Undergoes Rigorous Testing Ahead of Launch

Porsche continues its extensive testing of the Macan EV as it is one of the most important models of the German manufacturer. Currently the Taycan is the only electric model in Porsche’s portfolio but the introduction of Macan EV is expected to increase the market share of the brand in EV segment. The Macan EV test mule spotted shares the same design theme as the recently updated ICE model but the prototype has certain changes like new bumper which gets slightly wider air-intakes.

Apart from headlamps, we can see additional lights below them which are new as it is not available on the regular Macan. The side design remains to be same as the current model but we can expect the alloy wheels to be different while the rear get new combination tail lamps which is full length as there is some masking between the tail lamps. The rear bumper is also new while there are some fake exhausts but we are not sure whether the production model will come with them.

The interior of Macan EV is likely to be similar in the ICE model but we could see some new features especially to the cluster. The platform of the Macan EV could be shared with similar sized Audi models but the battery pack might be more powerful and the tuning is different as performance is more important. The range is likely to be par among competitors. While an official release date is yet to be announced but reports indicate that the launch could take place next year.
