Nissan Teases the All-Black Magnite Kuro Edition: What to Expect

Nissan India has given us a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Magnite Kuro Edition, a stylish variant of its popular compact SUV. The term “Kuro” finds its roots in Japanese, meaning “Black,” and this edition lives up to its name with a sleek all-black interior and exterior theme. Bookings for the Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition have already commenced, with the official price announcement scheduled for October of this year. The Magnite Kuro Edition is set to offer buyers an even wider array of choices. Initially, it will be available in the top-spec 1.0 NA XV trims equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox.

However, excitingly, dealer sources suggest that this edition will also feature the eagerly awaited AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox, previously unavailable with the Magnite 1.0 NA engine. This move hints at the possibility of Nissan introducing the 1.0-litre AMT powertrain to the standard Magnite lineup as well. Nissan isn’t limiting the Kuro Edition to just one engine option. The more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine variants of the Magnite will also receive the Kuro Edition treatment. Additionally, some feature additions are expected, enhancing the overall appeal of this special edition.

While the Magnite Kuro Edition may not have a sunroof, it still boasts an impressive list of features, including an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 360-degree camera, among other amenities. Sources indicate that the Magnite Black Edition will be based on the top variant and will likely be available with both manual and automatic gearbox options. This makes the Magnite a formidable contender in the competitive compact SUV segment, going head-to-head with rivals like the Renault Kiger. It also competes with higher variants of sub-compact SUVs like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and the Citroen C3, while on the upper end of the spectrum, it faces off against the likes of the updated Nexon, Brezza, Venue, Creta, and the Kia Sonet.
