Nissan Magnite Global Debut On July 16

Nissan officially announced today that the company will reveal its much-awaited Magnite B-SUV Concept tomorrow. Like most of the recent reveals this will happen online as the Japanese manufacturer has already revealed several teaser images of the compact SUV. The Micra maker was planning to introduce the Magnite in the second half of 2020 but due to COVID-19, they had to delay the launch to 2021 while Renault will launch the Kiger later this year.

The upcoming compact SUV is based on the CMF-A+ platform, which is used in many entry-level models of Renault and Nissan. The Magnite was initially planned as a Datsun product but the company decided to discontinue the brand as sales were extremely low. The teaser image shows the front three quarters of Magnite and we can clearly see the Datsun inspired big front grille which is exactly same one available on the updated Redi-Go.

The Magnite concept gets small LED headlamps while the front bumper comes with L-shape LED DRLs. The lower portion of the bumper has black plastic cladding along with faux skid plates for an SUV look. The spy shot images indicate that the side design is similar to the Kicks as the bulky wheel arches give a muscular SUV theme. The rear gets LED tail lamps along with a new bumper and an integrated spoiler.

The interior of Magnite is likely to be modern and different from current Nissan models. The company will pack the Magnite with lots of features like big touch screen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, sunroof, leather seats, keyless entry, connected car tech and many more. The compact SUV is expected to be powered by two engine options 1.0 L engine from Triber and a turbo petrol engine with 95 hp. Nissan Magnite competes against Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV 300.
