The next-generation Hyundai Verna has been spotted testing in the country and the new model is expected to make its debut at the 2023 auto show. The first interior photos of the upcoming Verna have surfaced online. The photos of the prototype covey that the Verna will get a completely new design theme inside and outside. The recent pictures of the spied interior portray the placement of a wide display that might integrate the instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment unit.

The Dual screen setup is already seen on the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 electric models of the brand that are on sale globally. The Verna is expected to retain the physical buttons and knobs for the HVAC control, similar to the Ioniq models. The Verna will be based on the brand’s new design philosophy ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, with a wide sportier grille that merges into the headlamps, something similar to that of Tucson. it will have a fastback-like styling with a tapered roof. Some of the design elements are inspired by the Sonata and Elantra. The new Verna will be equipped with more tech and features and improved practicality.

The Verna is powered by 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-litre turbo petrol. The 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 115 ps of maximum power and 144 Nm of torque, it is mated to a either 6-speed manual or IVT transmission. the 1.5 diesel engine produces 115 ps of maximum power and 250 Nm of torque and it is offered in a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic whereas the 1.0 turbo petrol produces 120 ps power and 172 Nm of torque which is mated to a 7-speed DCT. The Verna is expected to get a mild-hybrid tech, and at a later stage, a plug-in hybrid version also is expected for international markets.
