By Hyundai officially launched the Exter in July 2023 and it is the first micro-SUV of the Korean manufacturer in the Indian market. Even before the price announcement, Hyundai managed to get 10,000 bookings for the Exter. The introductory price of Rs. 6 lakh made the deal even sweeter as the micro-SUV was loaded with lots of features and offered excellent drivability too. The Exter crossed 50,000 bookings in August 2023 and the next milestone of 75,000 was achieved in October 2023 which is even more shorter than the earlier one.
Now the Korean manufacturer officially announced that the Exter crossed 1,00,000 bookings and it is incredible that the micro-SUV has managed to get more than 25,000 bookings within one month to achieve this milestone. Hyundai was expecting big numbers from the Exter as the segment was dominated by Tata Punch. Thanks to the overwhelming response of the customers, the waiting period for the Exter in most cities stand at four months which is quite low considering that many manufacturer with the same level of booking is more than a year.
The Exter is based on the same platform as the Grand i10 platform but the company has made some changes for the micro-SUV model. The design theme is one of the main highlights of the Exter as it features the latest design from Hyundai International models. The interior is similar to the Grand i10 and it comes loaded with features like a sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, wireless charger and more. Hyundai is offering the Exter with just a single-engine option, which is a 1.2 L Kappa engine with 82 hp and 114 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
