MG To Launch 7 New Models In The Next 2 Years In India

MG commenced its India operations with the introduction of Hector. The model has been a huge success among customers thanks to the introduction of connected car tech, which was brand new then. The company followed up with electric vehicles and SUVs in the Indian market but they were expecting much more growth in the coming years to reach that goal it needed fresh investment from its parent company SAIC but the Indian government didn’t allow the company to invest which hampered the plans.

Finally, JSW Group has officially acquired a 35% stake in MG Motor India through a strategic joint venture with SAIC Motor. The collaboration aims to propel the transformation and expansion of MG Motor in the Indian market. Now the company is gearing up to introduce new models as the British manufacturer shared details of its future product portfolio with its dealers and they invited them to the headquarters in Shanghai, China. This special preview event took place soon after the deal with JSW was closed.

According to reports, the company is planning to introduce brand-new models to the Indian market. The focus of MG will be on fossil fuel-powered cars as it is where future growth is. The ZS EV maker will introduce hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles as they have already showcased many models at the 2023 Auto Expo. Some of the models coming to the Indian market include the eHS plug-in hybrid SUV, Mifa9 electric MPV, MG4 electric and more along with updates for the current model like the Gloster facelift.
