Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the new-generation Swift on May 9th. The company had already started production of the new Swift and they commenced the dealership dispatch ahead of the launch. Most of the dealerships across the country has got the initial batch which is why so many new spy images have surfaced online thus revealing the changes coming to the India-spec model when compared to the International version. Now the middle variant of the Swift which is called VXi has been spotted for the first time.
Like the current-generation model, the new Swift will be available in LXI, VXI, VXI (O), ZXI, and ZXI+. When compared to the current VXi model, the new Swift is much more loaded as it gets projector LED headlamps even on the middle variant which is impressive along with L-shape LED DRLs too. The rear gets LED tail lamps but sadly the company is not offering alloy wheels as it is likely to be available only on the ZXi and ZXi+. The Swift also misses out shark-fin antenna which has become standard on most modern cars.
The door handles and mirrors on the middle variant are finished in body colour, which is good but the rear wiper is missing and the company is also offering electronically controlled mirrors too. The Swift VXi is expected to come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and it is likely to come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The middle variant also gets a multi-function steering wheel and height-adjustable driver seat. The VXi (O) comes with telematics, keyless entry with an engine start/stop button, and power-folding ORVMs. Stay tuned for more details as we will report live from the launch floor.
