The Swift is the first car jointly developed by engineers from Maruti and Suzuki as they were testing the model during night time so that people won’t notice the new model. The major breakthrough for the Swift came with the introduction of a diesel engine in 2007 and it was one of the cheapest diesel hatchbacks in the country. The engine offers lots of power along with excellent handling package which took the Swift to a whole new level and enthusiasts have also become a fan of the hatchback.

Even with the third-generation model, Swift hasn’t lost its DNA. But sadly the company discontinued the diesel engine with BS6 transformation. The Swift is currently available only with the 1.2 L petrol engine but the hatchback gets both manual and automatic gearbox options. Unlike the earlier model, Maruti has packed the Swift with lots of features like climate control, projector headlamps, touch screen infotainment system and more.
