By Maruti Suzuki officially launched the Jimny 5-Door in India at the starting price of Rs. 12.74 lakh for the Zeta MT, Rs. 13.94 lakh for the Zeta AT, Rs. 13.69 lakh for the Alpha MT, Rs. 14.89 lakh for the Alpha AT, Rs. 13.85 lakh for the Alpha MT (Dual Tone) and the top-end Alpha AT (Dual Tone) is priced at Rs. 15.05 lakh (All prices, Ex-Showroom). The Jimny 5-Door made its global debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and the off-roader has received more than 35,000 bookings.
The Jimny 5-Door is powered by a 1.5 L K15B series engine producing 105 PS of power and 143 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual and 4-speed auto. The Jimny debuted Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro in India which comes with a proper manual transfer case with ‘2WD-high’, ‘4WD-high’ and ‘4WD-low’. To help off-roading, Maruti has added a 3-link rigid axle suspension, an electronic traction control system along with ladder frame chassis. We have experienced it fully during our media drive.
