Initially, the focus of the new production line will be on manufacturing the popular Ertiga MPV. However, there is potential for other models to roll out from this assembly line in the future, further diversifying Maruti Suzuki’s product portfolio. Since its inception in January 2007, the Manesar production facility has been instrumental in Maruti Suzuki’s journey towards excellence. With the introduction of Plant A followed by Plant B and Plant C in subsequent years, the company has continually expanded its manufacturing capabilities to keep pace with the growing demand for its vehicles.
Over the years, the Manesar plant has produced over 95 lakh units, showcasing Maruti Suzuki’s dedication to delivering high-quality vehicles to its customers. The expansion of the Manesar plant’s production capacity is expected to have a positive impact on the availability of the Ertiga MPV in the market. With the new assembly line dedicated to the Ertiga, buyers can look forward to reduced waiting periods for this popular model in the coming months. As of December 2023, the Ertiga accounted for a significant portion of Maruti’s open bookings, with the CNG variant being particularly sought after.
