Jeep Grand Commander Leaked Ahead of Official Debut

Jeep officially revealed the Wagoneer concept last year and the production model was expected to make its debut this year. The production model has been leaked ahead of the official debut and the SUV is christened as Grand Commander, which is basically the 7-seater version of the Compass. The three-row SUV will make its debut in the Chinese market initially market and it is destined for the Indian market as it is codenamed as Jeep H6.

According to earlier reports, the right-hand-drive version of Grand Commander will be exclusively made at the FCA’s Ranjangaon plant like the Compass. The design theme of Grand Commander is similar to the updated Compass, which made its debut earlier this year. The front gets a signature grille of Jeep along with new LED headlamps along with an updated bumper. The side design is similar to Compass but the model has been stretched from the second door.

The rear gets LED tail lamps along with a new bumper. The Grand Commander measures 4,895 mm length, 1,896 mm width and 1,754 height. Jeep is expected to offer lots of customising options on the exterior to make each model look different. The Compass influence continues to the interior also even though it is yet to be revealed fully. To keep the cost in check, we are expecting Jeep to offer similar materials on the 7-seater model.

The centre console gets a big touchscreen infotainment system along with a new digital cluster while the steering wheel is a new unit. The Grand Commander is likely to come with the same features as Compass like a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, leather seats, high-end audio system and more. The engine options will be similar to Compass with a 2.0 L diesel engine and a 1.5 L petrol unit with automatic and manual transmission options.
