By The Korean manufacturer Hyundai is set to showcase its other EV Ioniq 6 in the country at the upcoming 2023 Auto Expo. The carmaker is set to showcase quite a large number of cars, EVs, and concepts at the auto expo however it is confirmed that along with the Ioniq 5 the brand will showcase its electric sedan the Ioniq 6. 2023 auto expo is largely contributed by the most anticipated and curios vehicles from Hyundai India.
The Ioniq 6 is built on the brand’s E-GMP platform, it is the same platform on which the Ioniq 5 and the other sibling KIA EV6 are built. The Ioniq 6 is a four-door sedan designed with a coupe-like roofline, whereas the Ioniq 5 is a crossover. The electric sedan measures 4,855mm in length, 1,880mm in width, 1,495mm in height and 2,950mm in wheelbase. The Ioniq 5 features a more retro design with sharp lines and boxy characteristics whereas the Ioniq 6 carries a softer free-flow design that largely reminds the brands premium Genesis models. This free-flow design along with the flush door handles and cameras in place instead of traditional ORVMs largely helps in the aerodynamics of the vehicle thus Ioniq 6 claims a drag coefficient of just 0.21
The interior of the Ioniq 6 is minimal and yet futuristic just like the Ioniq 5, The Interior features a twin-spoke steering wheel, and the dashboard houses a pair of 12-inch touchscreens. The Ioniq 6 comes with two battery size options – the entry-level 53kWh and the larger 77kWh (also available on the Ioniq 5). Single motor RWD set-up will be standard with higher variants getting dual motor AWD option as well. The Ioniq 6 Dual Motor makes 320hp and 605Nm, which is the same as the Ioniq 5, while the RWD set-up churns out 228hp and 350Nm. The larger battery pack equipped trim has a claimed WLTP range of 614 km with RWD configuration while the all-wheel drive one is good enough for 583 km.
