Hyundai Exter Bookings Crossed 50,000, Sunroof Variant More Popular

Hyundai officially launched the new Exter on July 10th in the Indian market and the company has official announced that the bookings crossed 50,000 in one month which is impressive as they have also revealed that the Exter got more than 10,000 bookings before the price announcement. The sunroof equipped variant is more popular among customers as 75 per cent of them choose this over other variants as it gets a regular size sunroof which can be operated via voice controls.

The company has further given more breakup of the bookings as 33 per cent of customers choose AMT variant which is a good sign that it is getting more popular. The Exter is the only model which come equipped with paddle shifters for AMT transmission as its main competitor doesn’t offer it. According to some dealers, the waiting period of the Exter is more than 12 weeks and it is expected to grow in coming weeks as festival season rush is about to begin across the country starting with Onam.

Hyundai Exter comes in five variants – EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect trims. The SX (O) Connect Trims indicate that it might get the connected car tech and the features will be similar to the Venue. The Exter is powered by 1.2 L Kappa series petrol engine with 83 PS and 113 Nm of torque, mated to 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. Hyundai is also offering a CNG version too and the Exter is going to compete against Tata Punch.
