Honda is planning to expand the adventure lineup in India as the Japanese manufacturer is gearing up to launch the NX500. We had earlier reported that the bike would be launched soon as it was confirmed by a Honda BigWing dealer. According to new reports, some dealerships across the country have started accepting unofficial bookings of the NX500 and the launch is expected to take place soon. The booking amount is Rs. 50,000 but the company is yet to officially announce anything.

In Honda’s lineup, the NX500 is going to be the replacement for the CB500X and the global debut took place at EICMA 2023. The NX500 gets a striking design theme as the adventure motorcycle features a larger fairing complemented by an LED headlamp and a windscreen. One of the standout features is the new 5-inch digital instrument console, offering Bluetooth connectivity. The NX500 is powered by a 471 cc parallel twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 47 bhp of power and 43 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Honda has updated the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) for better acceleration. In terms of suspension, the NX500 is equipped with a 41 mm Showa upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The braking duties are taken care of by dual 296 mm discs up front and a single disc at the rear. The NX500 rides on a 19-inch wheel at the front with a 110/80-section tyre and a 17-inch wheel at the rear with a 160/60-section tyre. The NX500 comes with lightweight wheels, it reduces unsprung weight by 1.5 kg and the motorcycle is expected to be priced at around Rs. 7 lakh.
