By Ford is planning to introduce an automatic variant of Aspire soon in India. The company recently launched the Figo with automatic transmission as the hatchback has been waiting for an auto transmission for a long time. The Aspire, which is basically the compact sedan based on the Figo will also come with the same engine and gearbox combinations. Initially reports suggested that both models will be launched around the same time instead Ford only introduced the hatchback with an automatic gearbox.
The Aspire automatic will be powered by the same 1.2 L naturally aspirated petrol engine from the Figo with 96 PS of power and 119 Nm. The gearbox is going to be the 6-speed torque convertor with sports mode and it will come with select shift function to manually change gears. The ARAI claimed mileage of Figo automatic is 16 kmpl and we can expect the same figures for the Aspire too. Apart from the introduction of automatic gearbox, we are not expecting any changes and Aspire is likely to be offered with Titanium and Titanium+ variants.
