By BYD officially opened the bookings for the Seal in India even though many dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings. This is the first time, the company officially announced the bookings. The booking amount has not been disclosed yet, but most dealers are taking one lakh as the booking amount. To complement the customers who pre-book the Seal, BYD is offering the customers to attend a UEFA European Football Championship 2024 (UEFA EURO 2024) as BYD is the official e-mobility partner.
Customers who pre-book the Seal before April 30 will get to be part of it as the company will select a limited number of winners from the total bookings and they will get the opportunity to watch the match live along with a round-trip flight ticket. This will be a good opportunity for football lovers as it gives them exclusive access. The Seal is one of the most awaited models to be launched in the country as the model was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and the electric sedan India entry has been delayed for some time now.
The Seal will be available in just a single variant, which will be powered by an 82.5 kWh battery pack with a single motor at the rear wheel. The permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear wheel produces 230hp and 360Nm of torque. 0-100 kph comes up in 5.9 sec. The ARAI range of the Seal is not yet out but the WLTP cycle range is 570 Km and we can expect a figure similar to this on the India-spec model. We are expecting the company to price the model aggressively and deliveries are expected to begin soon after the launch.
