BMW iX1 Officially Launched In India At Rs. 66.90 Lakh

BMW officially launched its most affordable electric vehicle iX1 in India at Rs. 66.90 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The iX1 is offered in a single variant – xDrive30 and it is based on the popular X1 as it is the best-selling model of the brand in India. The new generation X1 made its India debut earlier this year and the iX1 is based on the ICE version the electric model doesn’t get many design tweaks except for a closed grille along with new 18-inch alloy wheels while the front and rear bumpers design is also new.

BMW is offering the iX1 in four colour options – White, Grey, Silver and Black. The interior design of the iX1 is exactly similar to what we have seen on the X1 as the infotainment system is curved like the new BMW models and the iX1 gets a 10.7-inch infotainment system while the instrument cluster is a 10.25-inch system. The iX1 comes with the latest BMW i-drive software and it comes with some special software for the electric version. BMW has given special Aluminum mesh effects for the interior to give a premium feel. Some of the features of the new iX1 include 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, 6 ambient lighting and more.

The iX1 comes with all the basic safety like airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction Control and more but the company is also offering an ADAS system on the new model, which gives it an extra safety layer. BMW has given a 66.4 kWh battery pack for the iX1 and offers one electric motor at each axle thus giving all-wheel drive capability for the electric SUV. The total output is 313 hp and 494 Nm, 0-100 kph comes in 5.6 sec and the top speed is 180 kph. The claimed range of the BMW iX1 is 440 Km. Stay tuned for an in-depth drive report of the iX1.
