By Ather officially launched the 450 Apex in India at Rs. 1.89 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Positioned as the pinnacle of technological innovation within the existing platform, the 450 Apex takes the capabilities of the 450X to new heights, all while adhering to safe thermodynamic limits. One of the standout features of the 450 Apex is its revolutionary regenerative braking system, contributing to an impressive claimed IDC range of 157km. The system introduces a unique element called ‘Magic Twist,’ allowing riders to decelerate the e-scooter by twisting the accelerator 15 degrees backward, eliminating the need for traditional brakes.
Powering the 450 Apex is the same 3.7kWh battery pack as the 450X but with a significant boost in performance. The 7kW peak power motor is exclusively equipped with the Warp+ mode, delivering a swift 0-40kph acceleration in just 2.9 seconds and surpassing 40-80kph benchmarks compared to its predecessor. Notably, the 450 Apex is the sole Ather EV capable of achieving a claimed top speed of 100kph in this high-performance mode. Retaining the dimensions of the 450 platform, the Apex introduces the enclosed belt drive system, a design innovation set to feature in upcoming Ather models. However, retrofitting this system to existing models is not an option.
While the overall aesthetic remains are consistent, the 450 Apex boasts a distinctive Indium blue colour for its body panels, complemented by transparent rear panels showcasing the vibrant orange chassis. Ather positions the 450 Apex as a passion project rather than a commercially targeted endeavour. With limited production scheduled until October 2024 based on demand, bookings are now open, and deliveries of this flagship Ather are set to commence in March 2024.
