Aston Martin To Launch DB12 On September, 29

The Aston Martin DB12 is poised to make a dazzling entry into the Indian automotive scene with its highly anticipated launch scheduled for September 29, 2023. Just four months subsequent to its global debut, the Aston Martin DB12 is set to showcase its remarkable prowess on the Indian roads. The grand reveal will take place at the distinguished British High Commission situated in the heart of New Delhi, a fitting setting for an event of such prestige. As the successor to the renowned DB11, the familial lineage is readily apparent in the Aston Martin DB12’s design; however, it brings fresh elements to the table. The front grille commands attention with its expanded dimensions, harmonizing perfectly with the notably fiercer front fascia. The revamped headlamps, adorned with the brand’s distinctive LED DRL signature, exude modernity and sophistication. The sides of the vehicle exude an enhanced dynamism, highlighted by a prominent air vent emerging boldly from the front wheel arch.

Beneath the hood, the Aston Martin DB12 inherits an updated version of its predecessor’s chassis and mechanical framework. Notably, it houses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG, which now boasts an impressive power output of 680hp and a peak torque of 800Nm. This uprated engine replaces the V12 variant, resulting in a weight reduction of 100kg, translating to heightened real-world performance. Power is channelled to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox paired with an innovative electronic rear differential, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in a swift 3.6 seconds, ultimately reaching a top speed of 325kph.

Dubbed a ‘super tourer’ by Aston Martin, the DB12 boasts a 7 per cent stiffer chassis, improved adaptive dampers, and an entirely new ESC system. These enhancements endow the car with a more comprehensive spectrum of capabilities encompassing both performance and comfort. Inside, the DB12 debuts a fully revamped interior, rectifying criticisms of its predecessor. The utilization of premium materials is more extensive, and customers now have an expanded array of customization possibilities through the brand’s Q catalogue.

The most significant innovation, however, lies in the brand’s proprietary electronic architecture and infotainment system. A departure from the outdated Mercedes system in the DB11, the new system integrates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an equally sized touchscreen display. Noteworthy features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, onboard 4G connectivity, and over-the-air updates. With a base price of Rs 4.80 crore (ex-showroom, India), the Aston Martin DB12 beckons luxury enthusiasts and performance aficionados alike. However, given the extensive ‘Q’ customization options, the final price tag can substantially escalate as patrons indulge in tailoring their own unique coupe. Reservations for the opulent sports coupe commenced in June, promptly following its global debut, marking a new chapter in India’s high-end automotive landscape. As the calendar inches closer to September 29, all eyes are fixed on the impending launch, a momentous occasion where British automotive excellence converges with Indian allure.
