After careful consideration and numerous calculations, we unanimously settled on the Kia Seltos facelift, the latest sensation in its segment.
Kia made its mark in the Indian market in 2019 by introducing the Seltos, a runaway success from the start. The facelifted model, built on the foundation of the earlier version’s success, boasts updated features, including a redefined grille, headlamps, and rear design. The sides flaunt new 18-inch alloy wheels, while the rear is adorned with LED tail lamps and a redesigned bumper. Stepping into the interior, we were greeted by a substantial update featuring a dual-screen setup, one for the infotainment system and another for the cluster.
Kia didn’t hold back on packing the Seltos with an array of features, elevating the driving experience. From a panoramic sunroof to ventilated seats and an air purifier, the Seltos was equipped to cater to our every need. However, the standout addition to the new model was the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Level II. A total of 17 features, including Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot collision avoidance Assist, ensured a safe and secure journey for us.
As we hit the winding highway roads leading to our destination, the Mountain Club Resort in Munnar, the capabilities of the Kia Seltos became even more apparent. The car effortlessly navigated through diverse terrains, showcasing its versatility and performance. The journey was as enjoyable as the destination itself. Nestled in the evergreen mountains of Munnar, Mountain Club Resort is a testament to the typical architecture in Kerala’s hill stations. Its exterior walls, crafted from pure stone, and the traditional Kerala roof tiles provided a rustic charm. Surrounded by acres of tea gardens and mountains with nature trails, the resort offered a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Our stay at Mountain Club Resort was nothing short of extraordinary. The breathtaking views, luxurious amenities, and warm hospitality made it a perfect weekend getaway. The Seltos had proven to be more than just a means of transportation; it had become an integral part of our memorable journey. Under the hood, our Seltos was powered by the 1.5 L diesel engine, delivering an impressive 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed manual and torque converter, the engine provided a smooth and responsive driving experience. The 1.4 L turbo petrol engine with 140 PS was also available for those seeking a performance-oriented drive. Non-enthusiasts could opt for the 1.5 L petrol engine with 115 PS. The Seltos offered a diverse range of variants, ensuring that there was a model to suit every driver’s preferences.
