Maruti is now more concerned about the safety of its vehicles and now even the base spec is equipped with more safety features. It’s a great step taken by Maruti Suzuki to implement this safety aid in the base spec and it is highly appreciated as a mass producer. However, the price of the vehicle has been increased to Rs 12000 in January. The price hike is not only based on the increase in input cost. It is largely concerned with adding more features to its vehicle also. The new price starts from Rs 6.56 Lakh ex-showroom.
Baleno is the first car in which Maruti Suzuki has brought up these features as standard. ESP stands for Electronic Stability Program, which is an automated software mechanism that helps the vehicle to regain its stability under a situation in which the vehicle loses its control and skid over. Hill hold is another automated braking function in which the vehicle applies brakes for a couple of seconds once the driver lifts his leg from the brake. This enables the driver to drive the vehicle forward without rolling down on steep inclines.
These are very useful safety features that will enable drivers to drive safely. Since Baleno is one of the largest-selling models in the country hence these features will largely be used by common people and it will eventually force other manufacturers also to add these safety features from the very base spec. Baleno base-spec Sigma MT is a well-loaded car that has halogen projector headlamps, a blacked-out grille, steel wheels, body-coloured bumpers, Nexa signature LED tail lamps and a back door spoiler. Key highlights on the inside include auto climate control, rear defogger, all power windows, central locking, keyless entry, tilt power steering, semi-digital instrument panel and front seat adjustable headrest.
