You Won’t Be Able To Buy The New Mercedes-AMG G63 Facelift This Year

Mercedes-AMG has officially launched the facelifted version of the iconic AMG G63 in India, with prices starting at Rs. 3.60 crore. This luxury SUV, known for its rugged performance and distinctive design, has already garnered significant interest, with over 120 pre-launch orders. Deliveries for the facelifted AMG G63 are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with bookings now open. Regarding exterior updates, the AMG G63 gets several subtle design tweaks. The front bumper now features vertical slats, and the grille has a dark chrome finish, offering a more aggressive look. The A-pillars have been slightly rounded, and a new lip has been added to the windscreen, changes made to improve the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency and reduce noise and vibration.

These updates were inspired by the electric G-Class developments. At the rear, buyers can opt for a carbon-fibre-finished spare wheel cover, adding a touch of exclusivity. The interior of the new AMG G63 has received a significant overhaul. It now features the MBUX infotainment system, which includes two 12.3-inch screens—one for the driver’s display and another for the infotainment system. For the first time, the G-Class comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, the vehicle boasts an 18-speaker, 760-watt Burmester sound system, delivering an immersive audio experience. The new AMG performance steering wheel, a three-spoke design, enhances driver control and comfort.

Powering the updated AMG G63 is the familiar 3,982cc V8 engine, producing 585hp and 850Nm of torque. New to this model is a 48V mild-hybrid system, adding an extra 22hp of power. The SUV is equipped with a 9-speed DCT automatic gearbox and paddle shifters, and it can accelerate from 0-100kph in just 4.3 seconds. Additional features include Mercedes’ AMG Active Ride Control, a hydraulic suspension system that improves stability and handling, and a revamped off-road control centre for easier access to key functions. The updated model also offers a range of customization options, with 31 unique MANUFAKTUR upholstery choices and 29 paint options.
