Tata Curvv coupe-SUV has captured significant market attention, resulting in a waiting period of over three months for certain variants, depending on the powertrain option selected. Initially launched in August with an electric vehicle (EV) powertrain, the Curvv lineup expanded in September with petrol and diesel engine options, further cementing its popularity across various segments. This surge in demand is reflected in recent market data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), indicating that Tata Motors dispatched 8,218 units of the Curvv coupe-SUV to dealerships during October. However, this heightened demand has extended the waiting times, particularly for some variants.
Dealer sources confirm that the Curvv EV, available in various configurations, enjoys swift deliveries to customers, thanks to consistent dispatches to Tata outlets. The waiting period for the Curvv EV typically hovers around four weeks. When it comes to the diesel-powered Curvv, it is available in Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished trims. Customers looking to purchase the entry-level Curvv Smart diesel with a manual transmission can expect a wait time of just over two months. The Pure, Creative, and Accomplished trims, also with manual gearboxes, are deliverable in slightly more than a month. Meanwhile, all diesel automatic variants of the Curvv have an average waiting period of approximately two months.
The Curvv EV models offer two battery pack options—a 40.5 kWh unit for the Creative, Accomplished, and Accomplished+ variants, and a 55 kWh unit for the higher-end Accomplished+, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A trims. Both battery options power a 167hp electric motor, delivering impressive acceleration, with 0-100 km/h achieved in just 8.6 seconds, and a top speed of 160 km/h. Petrol-powered versions of the Curvv feature a 120hp 1.2-liter turbo engine. The Smart variant equipped with a manual gearbox entails a waiting period exceeding three months, while the Pure, Creative, and Accomplished trims are available in around two months. Automatic versions have a slightly longer waiting time. The higher-performance 125hp 1.2-TGDI engine is limited to Creative and Accomplished trims, with manual versions having a shorter waiting time compared to their automatic counterparts, which stand at around three months.
