Next-Generation Toyota Land Cruiser To Come With GR-S Off-Road Variant

The next-generation Land Cruiser has been spotted many times in production form and the leaked images continue to roll out as the Japanese manufacturer is planning to introduce the model by the end of this month, which reveals more details. The Land Cruiser is expected to come in five variants and there is a special GR-S off-road variant for some markets as it will come with different styling along with lots of features to improve off-roading.

The GR-S variant gets a new mesh front grille along with redesigned front and rear bumpers, while the wheels will be 18-inch and some new colour options too. The interior changes are limited to different trim design compared to the regular model. The standard Land Cruiser come with redesigned LED headlamps, which are smaller while the grille design is different and the rear three-quarters get a new design somewhat similar to Nissan Patrol.

The wheels on regular Land Cruiser is available from 17inch to 20inch. The interior is likely to be modern with lots of new generation features. The GR-S variant gets front and rear locking differentials while the suspension duties are taken care of by the latest generation of Toyota’s E- Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) as they are electronically controlled instead of hydraulics like the earlier model. This will improve body roll at high speeds while the wheel articulation will be more.

The regular model comes with independent front suspension and four links for the rear, torque-sensing limited-slip differential is also part of the package. Like most of the manufacturers, the new Land Cruiser is ditching the V8 and downsizing to V6 as the SUV is powered by 3.5 L V6 petrol with 415 hp and 650 Nm, 3.3 L V6 diesel producing 306 hp and 700 Nm, both of them are powerful than the outgoing engines. We can expect Toyota to introduce a new Land Cruiser next year in India.
