New-Generation Kia Carnival Spied Ahead Of Launch

The fourth-generation Kia Carnival, set to be launched in India during the festive season this year, has been recently spotted testing on roads without any camouflage. This facelifted model, which debuted internationally in November 2023, represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor in terms of features, luxury, and overall road presence. The updated Carnival boasts a more upright nose compared to the previous generation, featuring a wide grille adorned with chrome highlights and vertical headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights. The bumper includes a small air intake encircled by a faux brushed aluminium skid plate, adding to its robust appearance.

The rear of the vehicle continues the L-shaped design theme with tail lamps connected by an LED light bar. The rear bumper combines matte black plastic with faux silver trim, while the side profile is distinguished by a large glasshouse, sliding rear doors, and a textured panel around the rear quarter glass. The new Carnival rides on larger alloy wheels, likely 18 inches. Although the interior of the new Carnival hasn’t been revealed in the spy shots, it is expected to mirror the global-spec model’s minimalistic design. Key features include dual 12.3-inch displays, redesigned AC and audio controls below the central screen, a rotary drive selector, front and rear dash cameras, a head-up display, a digital rear-view mirror, an updated digital key, and ambient lighting along the dashboard.

The international version offers seating configurations for 7, 9, or 11 passengers, but it remains to be seen which options will be available in India. Enhanced cabin ambience is promised, thanks to improved sound insulation materials, and there may also be a 14.6-inch rear entertainment screen option. For safety, the international model comes with an ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control and lane change assist, alongside eight standard airbags. While the global version offers a range of engine options, the Indian model is expected to retain the previous 201hp, 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission.
