BYD officially launched the Seal in March and the electric sedan has been extremely popular among customers. Now the company has announced that the Seal has received more than 1000 bookings in three months, which is impressive considering that the model is a CBU and it is priced from Rs. 41 lakh. BYD received more than 200 bookings for the Seal even before the price was announced and then the number increased to 500 after the 15 days of price announcement.
The Seal is available in two different battery packs and in three different variants. The battery packs are 61.4 kWh and 82.5 kWh with BYD’s patented blade battery technology. The 61.4 kWh battery pack produces 204 PS of power and 310 Nm of torque. The claimed range of this particular battery pack is 510 km and it is available only in rear-wheel drive configuration. The 82.5 kWh battery pack is available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive combinations. The rear-wheel drive 82.5 kWh battery pack produces 313 PS of power and 360 Nm of torque.
The claimed range of this particular model is 650 Km, which is impressive. The all-wheel drive variant produces 530 PS of power and 670 Nm of torque. According to BYD, the all-wheel drive variant’s claimed range is 580 km. The Dynamic Range variant with a 61.4 kWh battery pack is priced at Rs. 41 lakh. The Premium Range variant with 82.5 kWh battery pack is priced at Rs. 45.55 lakh and Rs. 53 lakh for the top-end Performance variant with dual-motor set-up.
