By Mercedes AMG GT R officially launched in India at Rs. 2.48 Crore (Ex-Showroom). The updated model made its global debut in 2018 and the changes made to the supercar is focused towards improving performance rather than looks as the beast of green hell design is stunning. But the company has made some minor design tweaks.
The front bumper is slightly different from the outgoing model and the 14 slats vertical apron has been tweaked. The company has also added AMG A-type Panamericana grille and the air-dam design is also new. The AMG GT R comes with high-performance AMG LED headlamps and the engineers have also focused on improving brake cooling too.
The rear gets a new bumper with a redesigned spoiler to increase downforce while the overall dimensions remain the same. The interior is carried over from the earlier model but the company has updated the infotainment system and the India-spec model features AMG night package also. The three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel gets AMG buttons too.
The AMG GT R is powered by BS6 4.0 L Bi-Turbo V8 unit, this engine also powers the AMG C63 which was launched earlier today. But the power output on AMG GT R is significantly higher as it produces 577 hp and 700 Nm. This engine is mated to 7-speed automatic gearbox and the weight has come down by 13.9 kg. 0-100 kph comes in 3.6 sec and top speed is 318 kph.
