Jawa 350 officially launched in India at Rs. 2.15 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The new Jawa 350 replaces the Classic model in the company’s lineup as the model has been heavily revised compared to the outgoing version. The company hasn’t made any major changes in design, but most of the updates are focused on mechanical bits. One of the major changes of the new model is the updated engine as Jawa has replaced the 293 cc engine with the 334 cc engine from the Perak. The company hasn’t specified the reason yet for introducing this new engine.
The 334 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine produces 22.5 hp of power at 7,000 rpm and 28.1 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. When compared to the earlier engine, the torque output has increased by 1 Nm but the power has come down by 4.8 hp. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it comes with a slip and assists clutch. Another complaint of the earlier model was the low ground clearance and it has been addressed with the new model as Jawa has increased the ground clearance of the new model to 178 mm.
The seat height of the new model is 790 mm which is 25 mm more than the earlier model and the wheelbase has gone up by 81 mm. The kerb weight of the new Jawa 350 is 194 kgs which is 12 kg more than the earlier model. The engineers have also made some changes to the chassis of the Jawa 350 and the riding experience is likely to be different. To further improve the ride experience, Jawa has given 100/90 section tyres at the front with 18-inch and 130/80 section tyre at the rear with 17-inch. We will soon bring a detailed review of Jawa 350.
