Honda officially launched Elevate in South Africa at R 3,69,900, which is around Rs. 15.92 Lakh. The Elevate that is available in South Africa is manufactured in India. The South African version of Elevate is exactly similar to the model that is already launched in India. The Elevate is based on the same platform as City but the engineers have made lots of changes to the platform. The SUV’s ride and handling are completely different to the City but the overall package is really good.
In India, the Elevate is offered in four variants but in South Africa, the Japanese manufacturer is offering just two variants – Comfort and Elegance. The Elevate measures 4312 mm in length, 1790 mm in width and 1650 mm in height, 2650 mm wheelbase and 220 mm of ground clearance which is more than the Hyundai Creta. The front gets LED headlamps along with a new grille which is finished in black and LED fog lamps. The side design is simple and Honda offers 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and an integrated roof rail. The rear gets L-shaped LED tail lamps and black plastic cladding across the body with faux skid plates.
The interior design theme of the South African version of Elevate is similar to the Indian model but the company has given a black design instead of the dual-tone texture. The dashboard gets a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 7-inch digital cluster with an analogue speedometer. Honda has given a camera on the left mirror to reduce blind spots and we have seen it on the City. Apart from this, the Elevate get Honda Sensing which is a Level-II Autonomous system. The Elevate is powered by a 1.5 L petrol engine with 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual and CVT.
