BYD will officially launch the Seal on March 5th in India and the dealers have started accepting bookings for the electric sedan. According to new reports, the Seal will be available in just a single variant, which will be powered by an 82.5 kWh battery pack with a single motor at the rear wheel. The permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear wheel produces 230hp and 360Nm of torque. 0-100 kph comes up in 5.9 sec. The ARAI range of the Seal is not yet out but the WLTP cycle range is 570 Km and we can expect a figure similar to this on the India-spec model.
The Seal is going to be the third product from BYD in India as the current portfolio includes Atto 3 and E6. The seal measures 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height. It derives its design from the Ocean X concept that was showcased in 2021. it is built on the brand’s born e-platform ( platform 3.0). The vehicle is designed so efficiently for better aerodynamics that the free flow design of the vehicle makes the aero drag coefficient of merely 0.29 cd. The sleeker headlight and flush door handles also help in the better aerodynamics of the vehicle and also the better stance of the vehicle.
The BYD Seal, like the Atto 3, features a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment display in the centre console, as well as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The primary touchscreen is surrounded by air conditioning vents, while a scroll wheel and driving mode selection are located below it. Two wireless charging pads and normal buttons for features like the heated windscreen and audio volume are also located on the central console. The deliveries of the Seal are expected to begin by the end of next month while the demo models will arrive soon after the launch.
