BMW S 1000 XR Launched At Rs. 22.50 Lakh

BMW Motorrad has launched the latest iteration of the S 1000 XR in India, priced at Rs. 22.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The S 1000 XR is one of the unique motorcycles in the Motorrad lineup as it is heavily inspired by the S 1000 RR. The motorcycle features a distinctive split LED headlight set into a sharp, aggressive fascia, complemented by a smoked visor and sleek, chiselled bodywork. Designed with touring in mind, the S 1000 XR boasts a tall stance and an upright, commanding riding posture, enhancing comfort during long rides.

At its heart lies a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 170bhp and 114Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Although derived from the S 1000 RR’s powerplant, the engine in the S 1000 XR is detuned to suit its adventure-touring character. To manage this impressive power, BMW has equipped the S 1000 XR with an array of advanced electronics. These include a colour TFT display, multiple riding modes, ABS, traction control, and engine brake control, ensuring both safety and performance. The suspension setup features USD front forks, a monoshock at the rear, and a stabiliser, providing a balanced and responsive ride.

The braking duties are handled by dual front discs and a single rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels fitted with road-biased 120/70 front and 190/55 rear tyres. For those looking to customize their ride, BMW offers a range of optional accessories, including panniers, a top box, carbon fibre crash bars, and more. Buyers can choose from three striking colour options: Light White, Black Storm Metallic 2, and Gravity Blue Metallic. The new S 1000 XR is priced at approximately Rs. 40,000 higher than the previous year’s model, reflecting its enhanced features and updated design.
