2021 Volkswagen T-Roc Deliveries Commenced In India

Volkswagen showcased the 2021 T-Roc in March and the company started accepting bookings for the new model the same month. According to new reports, Volkswagen has commenced the deliveries of the new model across the country. Even though many states are in lockdown, the German manufacturer has taken all the necessary COVID-19 precautions to make the delivery safer for the dealerships and also for the customers.

As part of 2021 MY, Volkswagen increased the price of T-Roc by 1.35 lakh and retails at Rs. 21.35 lakh but it was much cheaper than the Skoda Karoq, which helped Volkswagen to sell the T-Roc easily. The company brings the T-Roc to India via CBU route as they are taking advantage of the new rule as it allowed carmakers to import 2,500 units and it can be sold without homologation, which is much easier for the manufacturer.

The initial batch of T-Roc had an overwhelming response from the Indian customers and even now the company have a backlog. Skoda also imported 1000 units of Karoq as part of the first batch and even though they took more time than Volkswagen to sell them. Soon after the sales of 1000 units completed, Skoda removed the Karoq from its official website and it is expected to make a return sometime later this year after the launch of Kushaq.

The T-Roc is available in 5 colour options – Yellow, White, Red, Grey and Blue. The compact SUV is underpinned by the VW Group MQB platform and it is powered by a 1.5 L TSI engine producing 148 hp and 250 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Volkswagen has packed the T-Roc with lots of features like full LED headlamps & tail lamps, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, cylinder de-activation technology, six-airbags, TPMS and more.
